The Saguenay Anse-Saint-Jean region : unquestionably, a kingdom of beauty and discovery.
From La Baie through L’Anse-saint-Jean to Tadoussac, the Fjord Route will surprise you with its extraordinary landscape, the originality of its picturesque villages and the wide range of activities and natural attractions offered to the traveller such as hiking and Nordic trekking. |
 |
The Saguenay is a very peculiar river. Rocked by the rhythm of the tides, it hosts a whole range of salt water fishes and mammals, such as seals, sharks and belugas. You can even board whale watching cruises or go ice fishing.
The region is a genuine sanctuary of history and hidden treasures. Going up and down the Fjord Route, the traveller discovers a surprising panorama, rich with discoveries, and he witnesses the warm welcome that made the reputation of the area. |
|
The towns that border the Saguenay abound with surprises. L’Anse-Saint-Jean is particularly special. This village is the only one that sits directly on the shores of the Fjord, and it is a proud member of the Quebec’s most beautiful villages association. |
This is where you can see the beautiful covered bridge that used to be pictured on the Canadian 1000.00 $ bills. In the wintertime, skiing, dogsledding and ice fishing are popular, while the summer season invites to cruises, horse riding and sea kayaking. And don't forget the many kilometres of hiking trails in the Parc Saguenay, for hours of pleasure.
The gastronomy is surprising and the accommodations are welcoming and varied, from the small cosy inns to the rental of cottages and condos.
